When Will was first diagnosed, I used to cry walking though the grocery store. There wasn’t ANY FOOD that worked (so I thought). Everything down the isles were full of wheat, sugar, rice, chemicals etc. I was broken.
Fast forward to today. Grocery shopping is not only a breeze…but an adventure. We shop the outer edges of the stores. I go straight to the meat and seafood, find what’s on sale- then look up fun recipes to use! Then I go to the veggie area (we eat all the veggies EXCEPT corn and potatoes). I buy whatever looks fresh! Sometimes it’s artichokes, sometimes eggplant, always lettuce, cucumbers and garlic.
Now we hunt for cool, new things that work nicely on blood sugars.
Tragedy to triumph. This is the goal. Without the dark, we wouldn’t see the light. Perception is EVERYTHING.
I shop all of the stores in my area as well as amazon and direct from companies. A nice app to use to find products in your area is Instacart. Just use the search feature and it will tell you where to buy close by!
